Car stereo doesnt remember preset channels

Featured Replies

Hi I purchased a car stereo from Argos and installed it correctly, all is well except for the fact that every time i turn the engine off and then on again it doesn't remember the radio stations I have saved. Attached with this post is images of the wiring on my car.

Thanks for your help.. Is there any easy way of getting the wires out of the connecter I've tried a kitchen knife but its not budging..

I had this same problem when I bought my Fabia. Someone had fitted a JVC stereo and it lost the preset stations every time I turned the ignition off. What I discovered after finding the instructions for the stereo online, is that there is a fuse on the back of the stereo that could be moved into a different slot to rectify this issue without having to change the wires around.

Worth a look to see if your new stereo has this as well.

needs a permanent live connection IIRC.
