Locking wheel nuts

Featured Replies

Bought the car and despite contacting the last owner and the dealership, no-one has a clue where the key for the locking wheel nuts are. There's a garage in town that will break them off and replace them with normal wheel nuts, but I'm not too keen on that idea. What are my options?

It's a '03 Fabia with the Skoda wheels.

Thanks!

Your local dealership should have a master key set and have the correct one that fits.

My dealership swapped mine over to new locking bolts using the master set free of charge.

Thank you! Shall give them a ring in the morning.

Try under the the glove box lift up flap inside the glove box. If not, as mentioned Skoda dealerships keep a master set though you will more than likely be asked to show the V5 so be prepared to take that with you.

Thank you for that! Honestly, this car has so many nooks and crannies I despair at finding them all. :) (Compared to my last car, anyway! That barely had a glove box.)

in boot space. Lift carpet and lid, raise cover inside spare wheel and there's a space for the tool. As mentioned , there's a space in glove box under tray and another hidey hole beside driver right knee .Another idea might be to look for members close to you ,to see if anyone has a key to fit. That way you know the pattern . There's also VAG TPS (http://www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk/) who are very helpful and the site has a store locator.

I've been right through the boot and it isn't there. (I pulled everything out just to make sure.) I didn't know about the glove box or the hidey hole near the driver. It it on the door? Dash?

Thank you for the help!

Not on door. It's on dash , right  side of driver knee , just below ignition switch .

Thanks!

Thanks!

if you see a tab in there that says 'ON', FYI that allows the air con to flow cold air into it. Handy as that little cubby holds one 330ml can of Coke or other soft drink ;) There's also a rotary knob in the glove box that allows cold air in if the air con's on.

I found the cubby today but didn't get chance for a good look. Will have a look tomorrow in the light. :)
