I want to buy a set of 16" alloys, ideally 2nd hand, to take winter tyres for my soon to be delivered (insert joke of choice) Mk3 Octavia, to take a 205/55 tyre which should not upset the speedo too much.

 

However, I would really like to see a guide as to which wheels from other cars will fit  the mk3. It seems that simply specifying wheel size, stud pattern and offset is not always sufficient, for example, the wheel fit checker on most of the ebay adverts tells me that a wheel from the mk2 Octavia will not fit.

 

Apologies if this is on an existing thread, but I have not been able to find it.

Hi, i have a set on eBay at the mo. Steels with vredestin snowtrac3 205/55 R16. Used on my mk2 octavia vrs last winter. Still have 7.5mm. Well worth the investment IMO. Sadly they won't fit my mk3 vrs hence the sale
