blowing a fuse

Featured Replies

i have put in an after market sony head unit into my fabia vrs and when its on it blows the cars hu fuse, do i need any converter cable to stop this happening and if so where can i get one.

Sounds like something is wired up wrong or there is a fault with the headunit.

Did the Sony unit have ISO connectors on it?

it'll be a traped wire mate, will pretty much guarantee it. done it enough times now

i checked out the trapped wire seems fine, so i replaced the fuse and everything seemed fine for about 20 mins then i turned it up loud and the fuse blew again. is this to do with the hu over heating or dose the fuse blow due to the volume.

3 amp

should be either 15 or 20 i think mate, will check in my handbook in a second so yes, it was only becasue you turned it up too loud :D

3 amp

I should imagine thats your problem then. IIRC the radio fuse should at least be 10amp maybe even a 15amp, what position is it in?

jinx!!

from memory i think its 3rd up from the bottom in the middle?

If its in position 45 it should be 20 amp so no wonder its blowing..lol

yeah the hu fuse its self is 10amp but the ine in the cars fuse box was the 3amp on, so changing this to a 10 or 15 should fix the problem with no others occouring
