Seat frame bent ?

Featured Replies

Just noticed my single back seat doesn't quite sit in flush with the other rear seat/ up against the trim pillar it latches too. It does latch but is a little loose and about 20mm out of line with the other rear seat .

Best fix ?

Maybe upholstery specialist ? That could reshape the seat frame ?

I'm located in the Forest of Dean ,so south west

Can anybody recommend somebody to do it ?

Is it connected in correctly at the bottom?

Yes seems to be mate hinges down ok in the little latch at the bottom and the pin is in on the other side at the bottom just the top doesn't quite line up ! It's my seat of polo gti seats so I'm wondering if they were removed from a rear ended car and the seat frame got bent a little

Hmm can't see why it would be bent. Is it the upper or lower piece?

It's the upper mate

It all lines up across the bottom but it's around 20mm out at the top and you can rattle the seat when it's latched I've tried playing with the little rubber bump stop, that makes the seat line up better but then it rattles a lot more as it's loose on the latch

Get some photos.

Hmm that's strange!

On another not you have a rare 3rd rear headrest!

Yes very odd I'm thinking that dent is a sign of damage meaning it doesn't fit correctly ?

Yeah does look damaged Tbh. Maybe something heavy in the boot and an emergency stop/bump? Would have to be real heavy though to bend that I suspect.

If you take that section out and lay it on the floor, is it obviously bent then? Might be worth taking the foam and cover off and trying to straighten out the metal if so.
