Strange bong noise

Featured Replies

As per the title I've recently been getting an unknown bong noise coming through the speakers of my car. It happens after I get in the car but before I put the key in the ignition. It doesn't happen after the car is started and my car has the Bolero if that helps.

Anyone have any ideas what the bong noise is?

Fitz

Had a similar noise when the battery was low.

Was your indicator left on?

Phil

Bongs are associated with -

Low Fuel,

Seat belt not on ( usually when moving),

Lights left on,

Parking light left on( Indicator),

Outside temp @ 4C,

low washer bottle,

a bulb blown ( ususally get a ligh on the dash as well)

I am sure if you read the manual you will find a couple more

All the noises listed tend to come from the actual dash module and when the key is in the ignition. This noise i'm getting is actually coming out of the speakers and is very diffrent to the usual suspects of low fuel / outside temp / seatbelt etc; it bongs then about 10 seconds later it does it again!!
