ArtDeShine Clay Cloth

Featured Replies

Some may have read, seen, used the clay cloth and some may not.

So just a quick thread on my findings so far.

Really well packed, looks so much better than a cheap plastic box (ok, thats just because its silver shiny)

It does need cutting to open and its so well sealed its fun to rip open.

All folded up straight from its bag.

Dipped in a warm bucket of shampoo (no gloss enhancer or rinse aid in this shampoo) and opened up.

Lay flat on the bonnet so you can see both sides.

You have a MF side and a "clay" side.

With a new cloth its a good idea to "break it in" doing the glass first, dip it in the shampoo, wipe over the (already clean glass) using the MF side, making sure its nice and slippy, then follow with the clay side.

Do the same thing for the paint work, making sure you dip and clean with every panel.

Due to the size of the cloth, this really cuts down on the time factor, it makes large panels like the roof, bonnet etc so much quicker.

You can hear and feel it working, its not "grippy" in use as such, but feels just like claying does.

It should, with care and attention to keepling it clean, last 3/4 times longer than a clay bar.

(that all depends on how bad the panels etc are of course)

I really liked this, and will be using it alot more.

Downsides: Cost (but makes up for that with time saved and how many cars it will do), due to its cost I won't be using it on wheels.

Seen these around but didn't know much about them, thanks for the review. I hate claying!

Really helps having a nice warm bucket of shampoo to keep it lubed and clean.

It might be worth linking the meet to a new thread in this section Mozzie!

At £40 thats a pound a car.

You can always find lots cheaper on the bay, around the web, but like most things, cheaper dosn't mean better. (and that will be a nice chinese version)

But if they are that much cheaper, its for a reason, and the difference will be in the quality of the cloth used and the finish of the "clay".

Still, its an open market place and people always have choices.

If you do go for it, please post results.
