Service questions

Featured Replies

When all this bad weather is over (when will that be? :rain: ) I am going to service my car, anyway for the spark plugs haynes recommends using a light coating of copper grease on the threads, but reading elsewhere i have seen a post saying copper grease gives false torque readings. What should I do? Fit then dry?

Also another question when i change the fuel filter, i guess i will need new type screw hose clips, but what diameter clips do i need anyone know?

Thank You

I always use WD40 on threads.

but a thin film of engine oil will be good too.

it's not brain surgery.

original part is N10292201 spring band clamp A14X12

14 mm diameter is the useful info for new screw hose clip.

A little dab of copper slip is the best thing for that, spark plugs don't need to be super tight, just follow the instructions on the spark plug packaging.

The outside diameter of the fuel hose is Approx 13mm, I would normally use good quality stainless steel ones under the car so that they are easy to undo again in the future if needed otherwise they get pretty rusty.
