How far have you dared to drive when the fuel light comes on?

Quite far, not sure on miles...often wait till the 'miles left' display shows the dashes....as in after 0miles. driving with the fuel light is the only way to drive! always a thrill not really knowing if you will make your destination.

PS. not great for the fuel pump though me thinks

I've managed just over 2 miles when the light is on and the gauge doesn't even move when you switch the ignition on. Needless to say I ran out of fuel before making the fuel station lol.

2 miles from it flashing on? Doesn't seem right that... i've had at least 20miles with fuel light on, probably more just haven't recorded it. 

On the flat the light comes on at 7l.

For a petrol, I wouldn't use more than another 3l, as after that it starts to get bad for the pump. In a petrol, I would always fill up before the light comes on. This also applies to diesels with a lift pump in the tank.

I have done 20 miles passed 0 indicated miles. Bottled it after that

66miles from the light coming on, last Monday actually... fairly ****ting myelf when it got to 5miles range when i was stil 15miles from the nearest open station...

that said, it only took 49.7litres to refill to the first click out... which means there was still 5litres sloshing around in there!!!

The light flashes , I helped kill my last car by always running it on empty granted it was a Vauxhall

Usually 40 miles before I put some in, wife's Yaris is 60 miles before it conks out and I get a phone call lol

about 110 km

Usually ..go to the pump..when BC blink..and say... 100km range

Got 73 miles out of my old vrs before it ran out by a convenient lay by.

Mine came on yesterday with a beep. Computer showing 30 miles left but i would rather not risk it as i have only had the car less than two weeks!
