german tuning plug in chip

Featured Replies

Hi i saw a company at vrs racing uk and there was an add for a plug in tuning chip for the 1.4tsi vrs and it says its simple to fit the one in carbon fibre is about £309 plus shipping from germany would this be good to use?

Is it a Tuning Box?   or Is it TDI-Tuning advertising it? A sponsor on this Forum

I think the Dealer might be here on the Forum and able to answer anything you need to know..

The TMC Box has beeen given the thumbs up by Twincharger owners that use it.

But there are engines that have failed that had them fitted, just as Remapped Engines.

BUT OBVIOUSLY COMPLETELY STANDARD TWINCHARGERS HAVE FAILED BEFORE REACHING 4,000 MILES.

I would give it a miss, maybe see how your new car performs once you get it,

and if you want a Remap then get that once you know you have a sound engine. You might have 185 ps plus as standard anyway.

Any Chip on your CTHE engine may Void your Skoda Warranty,

and even though some will say remove it before the car goes to a Dealer,  you might not get the chance, so Chip or Box i would say,

not worth it.

As to the ECU & Remaps,

this is about the ECU 2010- late 2012,  the Map on a CTHE Engine ECU late 2012 on is different.
