Fabia I Rear door will not open

Featured Replies

My rear passenger door will not open.  Central locking is not working on the rear doors.  Can open one door using inside handle the other will not work.  Car has been standing for some time (3 months) anyone have any advice for opening a jammed shut rear door.  Thanks in advance.

You should just about be able to get the door card off from the inside as the panel clips dont push in to far.

Undo all the screws etc and then use something long thin and plastic to try and pop the plastic clips, it will be difficult as the door card wont be able to move far, this will then give you access to the door etc

You may find you also need to remove the seat base to get it off.  Once you've got it off you'll be faced with the door carrier, which also needs to come off.  Getting the lock open is a real pain in the backside, this is where I gave up when it happened to me.  Best of luck!

Take the B pillar trims off, see if you can find any broken or corroded wires. If the locks are deadlocked, as above, you'll need to remove the seat bases and try to get the door card and the window carrier off. In the end I had to use a long flat bladed screwdriver to smash the lock and replace it.
