Electric window failure.

Featured Replies

Good evening!

I've not much knowledge in mechanics or electrics so have come here for help.

I have a 56 plate Fabia vRS.

Recently left my car (and key) at a hotel car park and on collection realised the electric windows (in the door handle and just the front windows) don't work. On having an MOT the garage say it's not a fuse or window winder.

Is this a common problem and a coincidence it happened whist at the car park? Any body with any information I would be very grateful if you could share it!

Regards,

Lippy

Unit 18 are in the process of sorting this exact problem out for me.

Turns out my voltage control unit was reading the batter as low and turning off non essential electrics until it doesn't read the error anymore, had my battery and alternator checked as all my lights and dash were going dim and then glowing bright as well.

They were both fine and Ali noticed the voltage control unit was holding errors for things that he has tested and were fine, going in tomorrow to get the new control unit fitted, £300 ish

Many thanks. I'll look in to it this weekend. Don't like the sound of that price tag though!
