final word: milltek resonated or non resonated cat back?

Featured Replies

Hi all

There seems to be a mix of opinion on this. Is the resonated too quiet? Is the non resonated too loud?

Mostly looking for octy vrs petrol owners.

Had the resonated milltek first on my vrs octy. To quiet pretty much like standard. So fitted a non resonated and it has a lovely tone. A nice burble on tickover, non droning on a motorway but give it some beans and you can tell it's an animal :D

General consensus from the Mark II Octavia Section is that the non-resonated is too loud.

I'm having a resonated cat back fitted on Tuesday - I will give you my thoughts once it has settled in.

Im running a resonated full system and its quiet, even under hard throttle is still not loud........

Does it make you wish you'd gone for the non resonated?

Must say that I am Happy with the resonated one on mine - has a nice sound and silent when motorway cruising. You can always start with a non-resonated and change if it is too loud I guess.

I have a resonated with the sport cat downpipe, cant say I have any complaints. Sound suits the car, fairly understated and not too lairy! If you want a bit more "racey" go non res.
