Front door locked, now can't open door.

Featured Replies

I have a Skoda Fabia VRS, the passenger side door lock appears to be broken and I'm unable to get the door open, I have a replacement lock but can't figure out how to get the door open to replace it.

An awkward job. I had to take a door card off on a rear and then beat the lock into submission with a hammer and a long screwdriver to get the door open to replace a lock. You'll give yourself more room to work if you can take the front seat out, assuming it's the front lock.

The rear is much more awkward, take out the seat base and work with the limited space to remove the door card and window carrier to get at the lock.

Good luck!
