Octavia mk1 fogs adjustable?

Featured Replies

As the title says really... are the standard fogs adjustable?

no,they all adjust at the same time with hi/low beam

Well the switch inside car appears to do nothing and I also hear nothing happen. To get it through MOT the main headlights needed adjusting so I can only assume they did it manually. But wondered if fogs can be done this way too?

Ill admit that I havent looked but didnt want to start fiddling with main beam just fog light level.

one more time... fog projector is mounted on the same big hi/low beam mirror and it moves with it when adjusting it

high/low beam cannot be adjusted independently from hi or low beam

so your electric adjuster is dead

Either that or the motors themselves, not sure where to start with it. I remember before I bought this car that 1 I previously went to see made a noise when the lights switched on and they appeared to move slightly. They werent xenon either.

So both the motors could be dead. Or fuse, Is there a seperate fuse?

Same here. The electricals on my car would give an alfa a run for its money

Had a quick look at the switch and all seems fine so must be motor related, I dont get a click or anything just the lights come on thats it.

Should it of failed MOT with them not adjusting?

Ive just recently lost the ability to put drivers window down a little bit so now it goes down until I press up again abit annoying but could be worse.

Well ive managed to raise the fogs independently to the headlights by placing a couple washers on the projector bracket. Light up the road better rather than pointing straight at the floor giving a meter or so of light.

But that's what they are supposed to do they are not there to light up the road in the same way your headlight do.

Just make sure they don't point upwards too much.

Nar they are fine still shine below the normal headlights with the right hand side 1 pointing lower to prevent glare with oncoming traffic.
