Have a look at the attached file from vcds lite, steering is DEAD at the minute no assistance or nothing

Dead steering angle sensor or PAS pump. Its usually the angle sensor which is fitted to bottom of the steering rack.

Its a known issue to skoda dealers who will do you one for about £100 on an old for new basis.

Do a search on here for steering angle sensor for more detailed info.

Not ideal that it can't read engine section!  Is that an issue when using LITE vcds?

I would google 1 Fault Found: 

01288 - Terminal 30; Steering Assist 

 06-00 - Signal too High

 

 

To see if that helps.

A friend plugged it in for me and did a full scan I would assume its having problems detecting everything due to one of the errors showing its being ran in single wire mode?
