tfsi pre cat and resonator removal complete

Featured Replies

Well, funds are tight at the moment I've cleared the garage out so decided to have a play. It started as a good clean then the next thing I knew I had the downpipe off removing the pre cat. As I have two mini people swallowing all my funds I can't afford a full system and decay as this then requires stage 2 so decided to remove the centre resonator...

I've been out for a quick blast and these little "cheap mods" have transformed the car. Turbo spool is much quicker she feels much more responsive and it gives her a nice little Roar under load. If anyone hasn't removed the pre cat its well worth doing. I have no reports on mpg as yet but over the next few weeks I hope to see an improvent when the novelty of the extra noise wears off!

R Tech are seeing another 60bhp and 90 lb ft on stage 1 cars with the pre cat removed.

Honestly feels so different! I'd seen pocs and thought it doesn't look that big but its massive I can see how it would cause slower turbo spool!

I'd love to decat after feeling the gains...think the kids are on jam and bread for a while ha!

I'd cut out the jam, sugar's bad for them.

Fuel economy has significantly improved so a big thumbs up! Kids are off the jam!
