I'm secretly saving your skills for 1-2 years time (or less) when the fine random swirls get too much and are in need of a decent clean up! Given this is the first car I've had that's never seen a sponge it's all new to me.

Of course if you were willing, would need to be a better reward than the last box of choccies!

ChrisR, do you have any pointers/advice/recommendations for a rookie like me with a black fabia?

Phew...where to start?..LOL

I would apply a good quality cleaner polish, followed by a wax or sealer and apply some Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer after every two or three washes

However, have you got access to a pressure washer or will it be purely wash buckets?

Prevention is far easier..... as poor technique will result in fine scratches ...easily seen on black paintwork
