Convenience Module

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Quick question about replacing convenience module on 2003 Superb 1.9 TDi. Is it plug and play or does it needs to be re-programmed?

Not sure if its any help but I needed to code my 2001 Octavia VRS module.

I purchase exactly the same number and revision, but when I installed it the alarm wouldn't work and only had single unlock on doors etc.

To sort it I went into VCDS Lite using a generic lead when the old module was plugged in and made a note of the coding number.

I plugged in the new module and copied the coding number I got from the old module using VCDS Lite and programmed the module job done.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not really mechanically minded, so I won't be able to code it myself.

Just to double check I have the following faults, can you advise if they are all related to convenience module? I took mine out and it was covered in water.

Radio - Working, but the screen is flashing, on and off.

Dashboard computer - Working, but same thing, half of it it's flashing on and off.

None of the interior lights are working.

Windows are struggling to go up and down sometimes.

Buttons on the steering wheel are not always working.

Thanks again.

Before you spend money on the CCU, check the joints in the wiring bundle under the front and rear footwell.  "Water ingress" thread at the top of this page is a good start.

Remaking the joints in the cable bundle is an extremely common problem and may fix your problems.  It's worth a try first.
