Canbus link to the CDC

Featured Replies

Hi all,

First post!

I've just got a MK2 Estate, jolly nice. I'm going to sort out the audio within my meagre budget and experience and wondered if I could ask the following..

1. Is the link from the CDC data or audio? -ie. has anyone hijacked it for an audio return to the boot?

2. What is a good vinyl to match the dash?

3. Is there any reason why I can't split a line level input to an amp and put in another feed for a decent audio player?

Thanks for any replies,

GC

Thanks John,

OK, so it's a normal CD player with the D-A in it. -has anyone used the line out cabling? Is it coax?

Thanks

GC

Cabling for audio and data is standard, not coax. You could tap into it, but obviously what you'll get on screen will have no baring on what is playing.

Wouldn't the analogue audio feed back have to be coax? Surely a couple of lines of the data multi would hum like a nutter
