Audience and Aux In - No Music ?

Featured Replies

Hi folks, my 2007 L&K has an Audience HU and has the Aux in jack in the jumbo box as standard. I've enabled Aux on the HU but I'm unable to get any music to play via my phone throught the aux jack, can anyone please advise ?

Could be the cable.  I know the iphone 1/8th connector is subtley different from the one on my HTC. So if you can try a different cable or a different phone/mp3 player....

Obvious things include plug in the cable & turn up the volume on the phone as this is a different setting from the ringtone volume, etc.

There is also an AUX input level volume in the menus (3 levels) which makes a difference.

Thanks for your reply Brad, I'm using a 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack cable to connect my HTC One to the Aux port. I've tried turning the volume up to full on both HU and phone and also tried all 3 Aux levels, but still no joy :(. I know the phone works ok as I use it with another similar setup in my Land Rover.

I have a 2012 HTC One X with similar spec cable so that counts that idea out.

So if your cable & phone work on another vehicle it's probably an issue between the AUX plug in the centre console & the HU or the HU itself.  You'd be trying a different phone & cable first just to count that out but it sounds like you need to get the multi-meter out & start checking continuity & soldered joints.

It isn't a hard HU to remove so you are in front there.

Just a thought - double check that the cable is properly seated in the AUX plug.  I had an issue there once before.
