Adding MDI interface -does it need coding?

I have a 2012 Roomster with the Swing stereo and I want to add an MDI unit - does the car require coding to recognise the MDI? or is it just plug and play with the correct loom?

When I added one to my RCD310 it was just plug and play :)

(It was added some time after I got the 310)

    Most people seem to find it PnP, but it should be coded into the CAN gateway instalation list ideally.

    I coded mine with the Amundsen+ in my Blackline.
