Inside Rolls-Royce, Channel 4, 9pm, 20th March

Cars ,

not Engines for planes.

Got it set to record - has come up on series link so not sure what the others are?

"Can we see the VIP signing in book?"

"No..its confidential"

LOL.

The entrepreneur that bought the "Selina Red" (named after his wife) with silver roof Wraith clearly has no taste. 150k in options..lane departure, night vision..clearly no one told him that a 60k Merc has them as standard..and I'm sure some other mainstream cars do too.

Its quite amusing really..

But that's a Merc, not a Rolls Royce. There are thousands of people who drive a Merc but only a handful who drive these. I find it quite interesting, the goldsmith for example. Won't say too much as people probably have it on record and haven't watched it yet.

I might see if Vw have a 20k picnic set to complete my car purchase when I cone to replace. Might be able to get it thrown in as part of the negotiations.

the trim panel's out by a micron, reject it :D Those Arabs have more money than sense. If they had any idea about cars, they'd have bought a couple of Nissans, some Skoda Yetis and a shed load of crashed Fabias. Er,,,,,,,, :wait:

Confused me as well as thought it was a one off

Next week its. "inside boodles"..A jewellers down in london i think..

This, and if I was that Jeweler I'd be pretty p'd off if it was rejected for that crack after all that work, but there was no mention as to how much the panel cost.

One thing that struck me was that RR insisted every part was perfect yet for the same price a supercar will have all sorts of imperfections ;)  :)

Agree with chris_1d the red & silver was awful & the chrome was made to look cheap - as SWMBO said - Money doesn't buy you taste .

modevrs130 - Boodles is on sun @ 9 pm ;)

It was very interesting

A very illuminating programme , the wraith is a lovely motor but the guy with the selina was a proper knob , he didn't want anyone parking near him with a better wraith ! A 100% **** ! , those Arabs will be crying once the oil runs out or we sort out the hydrogen collection

The Rolls-Royce HQ Front of house Manager could maybe learn something with a visit to McLaren HQ.

Rather than RR-Heritage, that looked Dated & Tired to me.

Maybe built recently to have that lived in look.

Some of the Promotion Employees seemed to me to be a bit of 'Nice but Dims',

is that their German Employers idea of what Rolls-Royce buyers expect to be their Meeter & Greeters.  Toffs, bit scruffy but Titled parents.  A bit portly, so make the slim Germans look better.

Make the Traditional RR Buyer feel slim, even the Lottery Winners.

Now the cars might be wonderful,

but you are paying lots from your purchase price, if they build, or is that 'Sell' only 3,630 vehicles a year (2013)

for the likes of 2 week Launches where they take over 5 Star Hotels.

Or buy a BMW 7 series which is very much a blueprint for the roller

Or buy a BMW 7 series which is very much a blueprint for the roller

but isn't hand built by perfectionists.......The target market for RR isn't someone who is terribly hung up about money/cost.  What they want is personalisation and personalised service. RR offer that.

BMW are a Richmond-brand sausage factory on a back-street industrial estate by comparison.

watched this really good and interesting

If you have to ask how much then you can't afford it.

I can't remember the last time I saw a RR on the road. This is what you are paying for - exclusivity.

I see quite a lot of modern Bentleys that are Daily or weekend drivers of people that could easily afford a RR and would not have one.

I doubt a Wrath will change that with them.

A few Main Dealership owners up this way, with Dealerships that sell cars from various different manufacturers  seem to like having their Bentleys,

I liked the paint with the ground glass to improve the depth and sparkle. Agreed the red one with chrome wheels looked tacky

Good interesting programme, swmbo did mention that the Head Honchos jacket could be maybe a size or two bigger as it didn't seem to fit very well in the interview at the motorshow!

I've seen quite a few over the last year.

Don't see anywhere near as many Bentleys

Strange, or just goes to show they are stealth.

Bentley, part of the Volkswagen Audi Group registered more new Bentleys in the UK last year than

VW Polo GTI's over the 3 years of production from 2010.

That's the modern way don't you know...

...they call it 'slim fit'.

That's quite surprising

Used to see loads of em where I worked.

Didn't see the show - should I bother?  or is it just full of t***ts pretending to be snobby because they got a job there?

To be honest - if I won the Euro Millions lottery - I'd still drive my Octy - and when I came to upgrade - I'd just order another with all the options.

There is such a thing as having more money than sense, I have about £5.40 on me so I'm almost there :)

Or the guy who only worked half a mile away from his home, yet still paid a driver to drive him there in his rolls!
