rear light problem

Featured Replies

Had a bulb warning light come on yesterday, on looking it seems to be a problem on the passenger side rear light.

There is no power to any of the lights the only ones that work are the 2 small bayonet fittings. I have removed the connector and tried every connection but there is no power, to the indicator, reversing light or the rear lights.

I have checked the handbook for fuses but it does not mention 1 for all these.

Any body got any ideas.

Just an idea - do the lights share a common ground that is a poor connection?

I have used the cd player case in the boot to earth my tester, but there is no power to any connection, when i test the boot light it lights the tester, so the tester is ok. I am testing for power at the socket where it goes into the rear light.

I found on my 2006 Octavia when a bulb failed that I had to turn the ignition off and back on and/or turn the lights off and back on before the new bulb would light.

I assume the electrical monitoring system cuts power to the affected bulb when a failure is detected.

Thanks MicMac, turned the ignition on and off a few times everything is ok now, was a reversing light bulb that seemed ok.
