I ordered my Fabia vRS on Monday of last week (Wk32) and after the dealer telling me lead times for factory orders are typically 8 weeks, have been given a build date of Wk41. As I have a leased / hired car for my driving instruction at the moment, I had to give 12 weeks notice on it. This is due to run out two weeks after the build week.

Questions:

How reliable are Skoda on the build dates? Is slippage regular or rare?

How long does it take to get the car into the UK and delivered once built?

The dealer is confident that we will be OK on delivery, but this is cutting it fine. It will cause me some problems and a potential loss of earnings if the car arrives late.

They were very accurate with mine Chris, I got a running commentry (because I bugged them about it!) They told me when it actually landed in the country, (about a week from then to landing at the dealer..) then when it was booked in for the duals (took them 3 DAYS! to fit the dual controls!!) so all in all acurate to what they always said...... I wouldn't worry too much.
