Just done Audi S1 Configurature - God just take the basic car, for fun!

Featured Replies

Yes there were early issues and the engine has received various upgrades since 2006. The late variants have a good reliability record.

Saying that the Fiesta ST doesn't use that engine, the 1.6 Ecoboost is built my Ford's engine plant in the UK and is not the same engine as used by PSA/BMW/Mini.

Ye mate Im aware the ford engine is not the same.

I was replying to someone who mentioned the peugeot 208 gti.

Having owned a 207gt with the thp engine I wouldn't touch any car with that engine.

to be fair coming from an oil burner i cant see how the 208 gti could be any worse

its things i will be looking into very soon anyways, ive tried lots of cars recently and from a performance view theres not a lot touch's the vrs for the cost, like others its a shame theres no plans for a mk3 vrs

Audi dealer tells me 1st New S1 due into them mid June.

Demos possibly a bit before that.

Just want to have a go - see what fun factor to the £.

Has any member placed an order for the S1 via configurator or the showroom.

If so ,what spec / price?

Were you able to get discount of any sort in the package?

I specced one to what though suited my requirements and was worthy of the S badge.

5 door without the styling pack or big wheels, came to £31k.

Drive the deal discount was £2k off that.

Boss,

Thanks for that.

Particularly interested in the way Audi are handling this pre-order system.
