2nd Car Detail

Featured Replies

Hi All

Just wanted to put up some pics of what is my 2nd car detail for a friend. As an ex motor yacht deckhand I am more used to polishing Gelcoat. I know the first pic is outside so not direct comparison but looking for comments both good and bad and suggestions would be great.

Cheers

Andy

Car was quite heavily swirled to start with and headlight plastic was starting to yellow

Washed Wheels with AG Clean Wheels

Cleaned Engine Bay with AG Engine And Machine Cleaner then AG Vinyl & Rubber Care

Rinsed Car

Washed Car with AG Bodywork Shampoo - don't own a foam lance (yet)

Clayed car with Bilt Hamber

Washed Car Again

Cleaned and Protected Hood with AG Fabric Hood Cleaner & Protector

3M Perfect-it III Yellow with Yellow 3M Pad on 3M Rotary - Perfect-it III fast cut Plus in two places to get rid of a couple of deep scratches

3M Perfect-it III Blue with Blue Pad

AG Super Resin

AG HD Wax

Meg's Tyre Dressing

Can anyone tell I got an AG valeting pack for Xmas that I need to use up lol

Good polish and pads there

I was once recommended Ultra Fina and a finishing pad on Honda paint

Only trouble was it takes forever to correct...so didn't bother and used Scholl S17 instead with a finishing pad and got some great results

Its fast diminishing so refines as its worked..no need for a second polish

Well done anyway...Great work

Cheers Chris, had all the 3M gear from doing the Gelcoat, the fast cut plus is great on swirled gel.

Got a Navy Audi A3 to do next week, any suggestions?
