CCM (central convenience module) compatibility

Featured Replies

I fitted a set of Cupra R dials to my vRS today, and coded them in without a problem, the cluster is happy and working with both of my original keys with no fault codes.

However my CCM is no longer working, I have no electric windows, and the central locking does not work correctly.

I know the CCM is not faulty, as when I plug the vRS cluster back in, then everything works again as it should (with the exception of the 2 lcd displays in the cluster which is the main reason for replacing it).

Does anyone know if the vRS CCM is compatible with the LCR cluster and if not, is it simply a case of swapping out the vRS CCM with 1 from an LCR ?

This is strange! Have you checked the coding of the LCR cluster? Is it the same as the vRS one?

Yeh I managed to fix it in the end.

The coding was fine, I simply recoded the shop# number, which was the same number that was already in there.

But re-writing it seemed to kick it into life.

However once I got that sorted, I went to actually fit the LCR cluster, which I thought would be a simple case of swapping the front covers over from the vRS cluster to the LCR cluster, but alas that didn't work, so I ended up refitting the vRS cluster again.

But now the CCM is dead again, only this time I am getting can bus faults logged in the cluster and the can gateway (which didn't happen before).

That's even stranger! How can the shop# affect the operation of the part/s?

I have no idea at all.

Especially as I re-wrote the shop# on the instrument cluster and that kicked the CCM into action.

But re-doing that on the original vRS cluster has not fixed anything.
