Opinions on Tyres? Going on TT Comps 205/40/17

Featured Replies

I swapped a set of vr6 alloys for a set of TT comps with what looks to be budget tyres all round.

Theyre in reasonable condition with slight cracking nothing major (They passed MOT yesterday anyway)

But i hate budgets and want rid of them some time soon. Looking at all 4 corners and want some decent tyres but not looking to break the bank.

Any suggestions?

Im not very up on tyres, when i had my 14 and 15s they went on uniroyal rainexperts and rainsports respectively.

Keep hearing some brands being mentioned to get the ball rolling, but add your own brands and opinions i want to know as much as possible before making a decision.

Yoko Parada Spec 2

Pirelli P-Zero/ P-Zero Nero

Conti Sport Contact 5

Toyo Proxes T1-R/4

THANKS! :)

Toyo proxes 4's longer lasting than the T1-R and a little cheaper.

Have run several sets on the Roomster in that size, several outings at Castle Combe. All good. 20k miles out of the fronts.

maxxis Z1's :)

Hankooks.

Having had 205s on TT Comps, I'd go with 215s personally; they protect the lip of the rim better. The ones with 205s needed touching up regularly from stone chips. The 215s I have on mine are Yoko Parada Spec 2s, great in the dry but must be used with caution in the wet from my experience. Never had a problem with the trusty Uniroyal Rainsport 2s I must admit.
