Featured Replies

Hi all been a while since my last post , just wondering if any one has had same problem I recently had full de cat exhaust fitted to my octy 1.8t 4x4 , fmic, hks mushroom filter also a ko4 hybrid turbo car was already mapped to 200bhp before these were fitted with no problems but since I had work done the car now smokes real bad on idle only when it's warm though so bad u can't see anything behind you the cars not using oil and intercooler is clear of oil and no residue I found and changed split breather pipe but made no difference , re changed oil but still same problem and it's really embarrassing when sat at the lights car drives and pulls perfect so no idea any help or advice would be greatly appreciated . Cheers Martin

Engine check light on?

White generally indicates water/coolant being burnt.

What work have you recently had done?

The car was mapped while standard to 200bhp and I recently fitted fmic induction kit dump valve full turbo back de cat exhaust and ko4 hybrid turbo , no problems with any warning lights etc only problem was is when it's warmed up if it's on idle for more than five ten minutes it starts to bellow white smoke and smells very rich , I have checked the turbo for oil leaks and it's fine and no play in shaft which I am glad about because it was brand new , the cars not using oil or water it runs and pulls perfect just the smoke on idle it's annoying only thing I can think is it needs the map updating it's booked into to get done on 28th just trying to rule out any problems before it go's in

Well it's needs a specific map for the k04 turbo.

What do you know about the turbo, was it new, remanufactured etc.
