Just joined this forum. I need a rear-mounted ski carrier which still allows the tailgate to open when loaded (roof mounted no good since the garage height restricts).

Has anyone got experience with this? It would be great if it could double as a cycle carrier in the summer.

It's the Atera Strada 3. How that carries of it even can carry skis is anyone's guess.

Thanks for the lead. I checked the Atera website and it seems that this is bike-only. They only seem to offer roof solution for skis. Surely there is one out there somewhere?

I'm not so sure.  Skis are as long as the user so the longest skis are about 2,000mm so a bit difficult to put sideways out back.

 

I'm not sure why you're worried about your garage and skis on top though? You won't be skiing in the garage surely? So put them on outside (on the roof) and drive off to go skiing. You get plenty of roof rails now that fit much lower between the Yeti's roof bars than the official Škoda ones.

What's the height in your garage?

The whispbars only ads 1-2cm on the height, and theres is quit a few low-profile roofbox available now.
