Johnny, thanks for your reply actually the car came without the rear speakers!! and the dealler said it is an option that they disregarded to reduce the price of the car...etc

the sound coming from the front speakers is excellent but i would like to have things in right order this is why I want to install the rear ones.

Still can't help you but wiring them might be a bit difficult if the wiring isn't there for them!

Hold on, the Ambiente should have 4 speakers in the back doors by my reckoning and according to the Skoda brochure. Are you sure you haven't bought a Classic? The Ambiente should have the same stream radio as the elegance. If you've got a Melody or Symphony Head Unit then the car is a Classic.

the back doors windows are manual and has no speakers in (4) is missing.

what can be done to overcome this issue?

The space will be there in the rear doors for the speakers but maybe not the wiring. The bass speaker should be a standard size but not sure about the tweeter. Could be awkward enough so you should go to an ICE installer for advice on what will fit and if you need to install additional cabling.

I'm pretty sure the Symphony HU will support the additional speakers. I think the tweeter and woofer are connected together through a passive crossover so the HU sees each tweeter woofer combination in each door as only a 4 ohm load.

Did you pay the price of a Classic? If so no problem, if not ask for a refund or a replacement car of the specification that you paid for.

As said before he may have a different spec, also the other 8 speaker system is only 4 speakers and 4 tweeters.

IIRC the size is 170mm, both front and back. I'm not sure if you need a spacer or not, although they are the same as the Golf V.

Looks like the fronts of my current RS will be coming out so as they are 17's(incase I want them for New car), I might leave the rears in it for new owner

fronts i'm sure are 165mm and rears i'm told are 130mm. i have a classic and will be adding 130mm coaxials to the rear but not the door tweeters.

if its a classic it almost certainly wont have wiring for rear speakers, but if its an ambiente it might.

mine is ambiente and didn't came either with rear door speakers, and im afraid to play with the doors or try to open them to install speakers, i'll see how much the dealer will qoute me to get them installed...

The MK I hatches rear speakers are in the plastic trim by the boot sides on the elegance, so i would guess that is where they are to on an Ambiente, only the tweaters are in the door.

:eek: It's a froud! Elegance ALWAYS has electronic windows all around and at least 6 speakers! I got mine with 12 speakers since i've bouth Audience.

You should visit your diler and be serious about it, and if it doesn't work, call Skoda directly and worn them about the froud.
