Just been quoted £799 for a shark performance ecu map stage 1, a dpf delete and an egr valve clean.

Is this as big a rip off as I think?

it is a Quoted Price for the job, walk away if you do not like it.

 There is no compulsion to have them do the work for you.

 

Please let us know how much someone else does the job for!

What other information,quote or research leads to that thought?

That is a price they offer to do the work for..... Not a bill for work already done....so not sure why you have concerns.

I've not looked Into a remap etc... But the quote does not strike me as over the top

Your sig says you have an Octavia 2.0 PD L&K....so you don't have a DPF. 

 

I would say that the price quoted for the above work does not seem outrageous, when you consider there is a fair bit of labour in cleaning the EGR and physically removing a DPF.  

Still pushing DPF deletes? While the price is normal, from what I've seen, I would say its somewhat irresponsible of them, given there's no longer any legal grey area on the subject. More interestingly is if they are charging you for a DPF delete on a PD L&K, which I believe never had one anyway.

This guy is on another planet he came to me yesterday after I managed to juggle a couple of jobs to fit him in for diagnostics of engine light on

I did free of charge

He then asked what do shark charged for dpf delete and mapping and cleaning egr

I said I think 799

But you would need to call and book in so we can check car details as we didn't have time to look into it as it was purely to help him out by checking why engine light was on !!!
