OOOOOPPSS! it broke

Featured Replies

So I drove a bit fast the other night and did not notice a pot hole in the road. I'm sure these grow overnight. Anyhoo I had hit it quite hard and my initial thought was buckled wheel or broken spring. Thought nothing of it and carried on going to my destination.

I came to set of lights and stopped the engine then decided to all sorts of weird and wonderful things. First it started shuddering violently and a few seconds later it started to rev on its own. It drove fine to the nearest car park so I could check what was wrong. Popped the bonnet and this broke...

This must have got knocked with the bang I had in the pothole, the engine cover is loose and must have moved pretty hard to knock it out. Pretty much has snapped. So today I took the engine cover off and tiger sealed the oil funnel back on as without it or not properly sealed I would have no oil pressure. I think lol. In the future would I need to purchase a new cam cover, or will my bodge job be OK for now?? I tried to seal as much around the edge as possible to avoid air leaks.

Much help appreciated
