Bought this exhaust for my mk1 VRS, any ideas?

Featured Replies

Just bought this back box off the old flee bay and should get it next week but anyone any ideas on what brand? I can't seem to find any pics of this box by any current suppliers. Piper go over the axle, milltek split before like this but don't think they do this tail pipe, jetex use 2 hangers and split before axle like this, blueflame is a possibility but I think they went over axle... Anyone any ideas?

The guy I'm getting off seems to think it is 2.75" ID inlet but it's packed up waiting for courier so can't check till I get it next week.

Also I need to figure out getting a link pipe from the back box, over the axle to center pipe, I do also have a milltek non res pipe coming too as I won his auction on it but may not use it if I need to utilise a mild section link pipe off an old box then I may use a diesel straight through mid pipe.

Or does anyone have an old vrs back box they don't want that I can hack the over axle section of the pipe off? I need to try and keep the OE system re useable incase I need to go back to OE with a new addition joining our family soon but from what I can see it shouldn't be loud anyway.

Cheers for any input

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the piper exhaust and although oval seems to have a different style of insert in the trim and different backbox inlet. Only reason I'm trying to figure is to contact the company to see if I can get the correct link pipe and also to know what I have got too!

Thanks again.

Milltek do an oval tail but it's hollower than that and all their sections have a plate welded on with the part number of the section

Yeah, it's a mystery! There is a good possibility it is old stock from a motor factors that just the box ended up sold as it is unfitted with skoda octavia written on in marker pen. I've found jetex do both 2.5" and 2.75" systems for the golf and seem to use a similar link pipe point to the back box. They look to do all custom bits and pieces too so I'm going to give them a shout next week to see if I can get just that piece. I know some companies won't split systems but as they seem to do all kinds of bespoke stuff I'm hoping they will do. Also from what I can tell blue flame used to do similar in a 2.5" and are in the skem area so might see if they are still about if jetex can't help.

Any exhaust place should be able to knock you something up cheap

Looks like my longlife one..

Looks like either Powerflow or Longlife to me. Think there is 1 of each dealer close to Manchester, Longlife in Stockport or Powerflow think is Bolton

Longlife are stamped though, probably the same with powerflow aswell?

Tunk, that looks nice on yours,I'm getting a bit excited now! If I'm honest I didn't want an oval as I personally think the twin round look nicer on These, used to have an oval on my old Corrado vr6 which suited but the more pics I look at witg the oval on the vrs the more I Like it. I'm sure I can find someone to make me up a link pipe somewhere.

I'm only 10 mins from Stockport so nip up there. Ta.

Magnex?

Greenwoods in rochdale would sort it for you. Not to far from stockport

If the oval is a good size and fits the recess it will look great. See my build thread..
