Is it common for the ballast clip to snap on back of OE xenons?

Would appear the reason my headlight bulb out light is on is due to the ballast on back of the facelift xenon hanging back in the engine bay.

Would appear the plastic tab on top snapped, so now hung back enough to allow water into the ballast. I've temporary fixed this with cable tie, but awesome gti put their diagnostics on it yesterday and said unable to reset light?

So, I have a warranty, so main dealer I guess, vds reset and new ballast. Even though lights still working fine, need it fixed!

Just wondered if it is common or not? Might get an arguement from warranty people as might say my fault?
