Dodgy markings on paint

Featured Replies

Our 3 week old VRS has a patch about 5mm square patch of dodgieness just below the offside rear doorhandle which looks like someone has stuck sugar on the metal and painted over it. i do plan to go back to the dealers to sort this out asap but just thought i would ask on here for any advice.

I can't believe i missed as i spent a good fifteen minutes going over it. But like i always say " you always find the marks on a car when you wash it".

You said it ! Go back to the dealer

Dont worry, mine had the same, it could quite possibly where they de wax the car on delivery to the garage and they dont quite get it all off, if you give it a bit of elbow grease it should come right off, try that first as I took mine back to the dealer for them to do just that...

I agree, i think mines still got some on in places (four months old), i think i polished over it a few times now but if you look really hard in certain places its still there

Useful tip No.1 : Use a cloth with a small amount of petrol on it. It'll remove the transit wax without too much scrubbling.

Useful tip No. 2 :Keep the cloth handy if your dealer is playing up..it will fit nicely in his filler cap :)
