Want to get an Octavia any buying advice

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have used this forum for years for my mk4 golf which I would now like to replace with the following vehicle

Octavia Hatchback
1.6 Diesel
SE or Elegance Finish

Budget 9k max

Form the looks of it I could expect anything from 2009 / 2011 with a mileage of 35k to 70k. Just looking for some general buying advice things to look out for on this model. When is cam belt change due all these sort of things.

Iam Bedfordshire area so if your selling get in touch Iam also happy to travel.

Mat

Cam belt is due at 4 years or 110k whatever come first.

I had a 16tdi elegance for 3 years, Great car did 60k and never put a foot wrong. Only had one set of front tyres, still on original rears and all original breaks.

Used to get 58 to 61 mpg most of the time. Sold mine last October for £7400 with full tax and mot. It was a 60 plate with 60k 1.6tdi elegance hatch with Bluetooth, upgrade trip computer, stearing wheel controls, heated seats and a spare wheel.

I think I maybe sold it to cheap.

Yes ex-;ease is a good option however the miallage is an issue for me being so high. The ones I have looked at tend to be 60K plus on the clock
