Intermittent Rubbing Noise under braking

Featured Replies

Was out practising my advanced driving "use of gears & power" lastnight on the local twisty National Speed Limit road.

On the return journey (down hill, use of brakes req'd) I noticed an intermittent rubbing noise under maintained braking that appeared to be coming from the wheels?

Any thoughts??

Could this be the excuse I need to change/replace brakes with 312's :D

Nope because I get it with my 312's :(

rubbing noise like tyres on arches? Surely your front end wasn't diving that low was it?

edit: Just to say I have the IAM website favourited, and its going to be one of the first things I get done when my car's back on the road,#.. probably post Jabba so I can scare the beejesus out the instructor.

No to me it sounds like the brake pad 'rubbing' against the disc intermittent, but its probably a warped disc
