Columbus sat nav with no sound

Featured Replies

I recently bought a skoda yeti with Columbus sat nav. Initially the unit wanted a code put in. The dealers I bought it from told me to take it to the nearest skoda dealers (Telfords in Carlisle) who could do it in 5 minutes. When I took it in Telfords told me that someone had entered the code too many time & now the unit was a brick! I told this to my dealers who instructed me to take it out & send it to their radio fixer, which I did. He couldn't fix it so of it went back to germany where I believe a new circuit board was fitted. The unit was returned to me & now works however there is no sound! Reported this to my dealers who told me it was an issue with the sat nav & the cars "can bus" (whatever that is!). Told me to take it back to Skoda dealers which I did. Skoda tell me that it is knackered however my dealers state that they are doing it wrong & it is an issue of "ticking a box" on the cars software.

Can anyone help!

Does your new car have the upgraded or standard sound system, usually no sound is a result of just ticking a box to set the correct option.

Sounds like it just needs VCDS coding and all should be well....
