Not even close fellas! This was with putting the driving style slider all the way over to economical and setting congestion levels to low (which isn't strictly true).

I'd agree that's on the conservative side.

Tis What Car...

Not sure I agree with that figure in the slightest... I've compared my rapid 1.2 tsi SE with my old car for real world MPG (Leon FR TDI 170) And the 1.2 tsi is far more economical. £20 of fuel at 126.9 got me 200 miles so I'm getting around 55mpg? I must point out in town and in traffic the 1.2 TSI seems to seriously suffer dropping off to around 25-30 on the display where the leon never dropped below 32. HOWEVER the Leon never managed 55mpg usually 46-48 was good!

My long term average is 54 (see fuelly link in signature), so your guess at 55 sounds totally plausible to me. The worst I've had from a single tank so far is 50. I do spend a lot of my mileage on the motorways though so I accept my economy will be above average... But the what car prediction is just crazy.

I get around 43 but I often drive like my face is on fire

I have had my Spaceback, it is the 1.2 TSI (86),  for a month and am averaging about 48.5 on town and A-roads. Haven't had a chance to go on the motorway yet.
