Britemax Products: Extreme Elements and MaxShine

Featured Replies

Hi All - After being away for a week enjoying my 40th birthday present - Barcelona trip and F1 3-day pass;

We got back to find that SWMBO's car had been used as target practise by the local bird population.  :@

Unfortunately - the baby-sitters are not trained in swift removal of such contamination - so it was a mess.

So decided to launch into a detailing frenzy last night after work.... and test out the above Britemax products which are designed for DA or hand application - but i bought them with a view to speeding up the detail process for enhancement work only when friends/family need some help. I tend to take a lot more time on my car when completing such work.

Recently i have stocked up on Britemax product on sale at iShine and i'm  pretty impressed so far; but will reserve judgement until durability results are more apparent.

Reason for choosing this range of products:-

AIO: One-step cleaner, polish and wax - ideal for spending less time on the car.

Extreme Elements (EE): liquid sealer suitable for DA application.

Max Shine (MS): liquid wax suitable for DA Application.

Plus, with most Britemax products i have chosen, good price and very easy to use.

Tested on a 61-plate Seat Exeo with Black Magic paint - as per earlier reviews.

AIO applied using Megs G220v2 DA with green fine grade waffle pad.

EE applied using Megs G220v2 DA with black ultra-fine grade waffle pad

MS applied  using Megs G220v2 DA with black ultra-fine grade waffle pad

Snowfoamed with ValetPRO ph neutral and rinsed; then foamed with Megs Hyperwash.

Standard 2BM wash with noodle wash mitt; then de-tar and decontaminate prior to using Britemax.

APC on all bird muck, GT-85 used on minor tar spots plus some minor claying around bird deposits.

Car dried with new Woolly Mammoth and blow drier for remaining nooks and crannies.

AOI results were very good, as before and you do not need to use a lot of product once pad is primed and running.

No dust or debris to speak of - product breaks down and absorbs completely with a simple microfibre wipedown to finish.

EE went on OK; but needed to be left for 10-15 to haze properly; then buffing was easier.

Also found a wipe down with CarPro Eraser before the wax was ideal preparation for MaxShine.

MS was a breeze and went on top of EE very nicely.

Ideally should have left 1 hour curing time between coats as a minimum; but was up against it on time - so allowed 30 mins only.

Alloys were given a wipedown with Sonax BSD to seal & P-Zero rubber completed with Autosmart Highstyle.

Exhaust tips tackled with Britemax Metal Twins.

PRO's:-

- Amazing finish for little effort - all products DA suitable.

- Quick and a great time-saver; Relatively low cost family of products.

- Extreme elements offers good UV, Acid rain, salt and bird poo protection.... to be monitored!  :giggle:

CON's:-

- Nothing to be a real complaint on the overall experience.

- Extreme Elements was the trickiest to use; i need to try it again when i have more time.

- Needed to use CarPro Fixer on some more severe marks left by bird poo!

Alas - in my haste to get on with it - i didn't take pictures before and the poor state the car was in!

But, by the time i finished the Exeo was looking sweet. All in approx 3 hours work - which was good going.

Pictures below of the end result... looking forward to rain later and some beading shots to follow!!!

Very much appreciate your comments Chris - i of course learned from a master.

Trying to get a format that is simple, to the point and easily to read especially on mobile devices.

Only issue i have is that the PhotoCollage app diminishes the quality of the pics a little....

BUT rest assured SWMBO was VERY impressed with the results!

Mirror shine Ste ! Looks great

Heavy heavy rain overnight here..... the beading was epic!

It was just too damned wet to take a picture though....  :rain:

  • 3 months later...

What was the durability like in the end??

What was the durability like in the end??

If i'm completely honest - i dont think i can truly answer on this, certainly on the wax.

It's such an easy wax to use - i put it on once a month to keep the car looking perfect.

I never left it with one coat for any longer than 1 month.

What i can say is that the Extreme Elements really did its job; as we got back from holiday

to find some pretty huge bird poo covering the bonnet. But it cleaned up fine.
