New to here and looking for some advice on colour coding the chrome surround.  Heard a lot about the problems of painting over chrome and stone chips etc.  What's the best way to paint it?

I never stopped wondering why people call it 'chrome'? It's plastic wrapped in tin foil - nothing remotely close to the chemical element...

 

To answer your question. You can either wrap it or completely remove the coating and paint it just like you would any other plastic part.
