Does this sound ok for new car?

Featured Replies

Hello. Will be picking up my new car in a few days. It's a skoda octavia in race blue. I am asking the dealer not to prep it and I will do it myself. The stages are

Demon shine dirt shifter

Demon shine snow foam

Bilt hamber corrosol

Autobrite banana gloss shampoo 2 bucket method

Clay

Sonax brilliant shine detailer

Was going to run with just the detailer as the last coat for a few months and then introduce autobrite cherry glaze and dodo juice supernatural hybrid wax after the gloss shampoo

Does this sound ok or would you use the supernatural hybrid wax or cherry glaze inbetween the initial stages I have listed above?

If it was my car I would replace the Sonax with the Supernatural Hybrid for the first detail.

There after you don't really need to dirt shift, Korrosol, clay or wax (depending on car condition of course) for around 2 months just Snowfoam, wash and then Sonax to top up.

Thanks. Just been looking at sonax polymer net shield looks awesome. Shall I not bother with the cherry glaze at all? Will the brilliant shine go over snh ok when I wash again?

If you have the Cherry Glaze, use this as a light polish step before the Supernatural. I rate this product really highly and will AD more depth and gloss.

SNH is a Hybrid wax and Sonax BSD will top up it's protection perfectly. I have used BSD over several Hybrids and the compatibility has always been good.

Polymer Net Shield does look good although I haven't used it. I am a big fan of glazes followed by waxes, especially on a daily driver, PNT needs very clean paint to bond to or the Sonax Xtreme prep polishes that use the same polymer tech.

Thanks have decided to get the sonax xtreme protect and shine hybrid npt and the brilliant shine and leave the supernatural out of the mix for now. Why doesn't the brilliant shine come with a cloth on cleanyourcar but other sites it does?

Arrgghh, just found out the car might have transport wax on it. Already spent way too much on detailing kit. Do they normally come with this still on nowadays? If so how do I remove it safely.

It has very little TW on and a good deep clean as you have described will be fine

I would then follow that with a wipe down with IPA before waxing and/or sealing

Thanks they are supposed to be removing it for me Will need to get some ipa today from somewhere. Cars coming on Tuesday and if weather's nice I will do the detail on Tuesday afternoon.
