Rear bumper protector

Featured Replies

We've had the Roomster for three months now (and are loving it). I'm working my way round adding bits of protection as we're planning to keep it until it dies. I've fitted mudflaps all round and have door protectors sitting at home for fitting at the weekend.

The top part of the rear bumper is pretty big and looks like it's prone to marking from getting things in and out of the boot, so I'd like to fit a protector. The Skoda ones only come in black and with the tailgate closed half of the protector will be outside the car and I think it will look odd. The Roomster is silver.

Rearguards do a silver one. Has anyone bought from them? I'm interested to know how the quality compares with the Skoda version, and on the slim chance that someone with a silver Roomster has fitted a silver protector I'd be interested to know how it looks.

Thanks

I had the Rearguards version in black on my Roomster, can highly recommend them. It screwed into two existing holes near the door trim, and also had adhesive tape supplied. Daily use by dogs over 2 years didn't damage it, and when I sold the car it polished up well with barely a visible mark. Looked very good and never moved once fitted.

There's always the option of the Skoda transparent protective rear bumper cover foil

Part no 5J7 071 133A (mind you it is £35!) I assume it's the same material that they use to protect the leading edges of the rear wheelarches

A similar film was standard on my old Seat Alhambra and the bumper top was unmarked after 9 years

Thanks, that's another option. Only one chance to fit it right though, and I can't imagine it being easy.

There are companies that will "wrap" a whole car, might be worth seeing if one could wrap your bumper top in clear or silver - problem is that there are a zillion shades of silver
