Electric windows not working

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a 2009 1.2 Fabia.  It only has electric front windows which have stopped working.

This happened some time ago, but they started working again.

Last week they stopped and haven't worked since.

I have checked the fuses and they are ok.

The windows open and close when you use the key in both lock, holding it across.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

There seem to be various reasons the windows fail.

If you follow this thread & links I think it covers most problems;

A clue maybe that the motor in the drivers door controls both front windows, at least on the earlier models.

I understand the later ones had the motor and control module as separate itmes, not sure about your model.

The issues with my windows where resolved by replacing the drivers side motor (£150), l hope your problem can be resoved more cheaply.

Hi

This also happened on my wife's 07 plate Roomster, but luckily it was still under wananty - we had only bought it a couple weeks earlier. They also changed the drivers side motor.

Steve

Not a motor issue if they work when the key is in... suspect switch or wiring issue. Possible water ingress into wiring loom or broken cable.

Best to get the wires continuity tested and visual checked for any sign of corrosion. If it's not obvious after that point, could be the control module at fault.

Let us know how it goes but my money is on wiring and possible water ingress if none of the switches work but bringing them down from the key works.
