Hi might help if i put that haha

its 2011 skoda Octavia vrs so fl??

Yes it's an FL (Face lift)

The standard wheel bolts are: M14 x 1.5 x 27 radius head. M14 being the thread diameter, 1.5 being the thread pitch and 27 being the bolt length in mm. They use a 17mm hexagonal head, so 17mm spanner / socket.

ok brillant ordered them and i had horrible thought was wrong as i went for 17mm

I was interested in this topic too. The reason is that I just could not make sense of the 17mm measurement so decided to get my best tape measure and measure across the flats of the hex heads. I reckon that measurement is about 22mm but don't have a vernier to confirm. It's definitely not 17mm on an Octavia VRS FL if it has the normal wheels that came with the car (They're called Neptune apparently). I know 17mm has to be wrong when referring to the head because I bought a set of wheel nut covers in the 17mm size and not even close.

Has any other member found similar confusion? Do you have Neptune alloys on your VRS? Would you mind just nipping out and measuring across the flats?

Will be interested to know why I have this difference!

I take it you haven't got a socket set to try a size so maybe try the tool in the boot and measure that and see if that corresponds with your measurement also.

Definitely 17mm on my Scout........

You could just measure the wheel nut wrench in the boot...
