Amundsen and htc one via usb

Hello

When I connect my htc one via usb it charges but an error comes up when it tries to read the disc. I understand that htc doesn't have the correct protocols to be able to play music via usb. The thing is when you plug the phone in to charge the amundsen will just freeze whilst trying to access the phones files. It won't let you play via bluetooth, listen to radio or anything whilst the phone is plugged in.

Is there any way to stop the amundsen trying to read the phones files and just use the cable to charge whilst playing music over bluetooth?
