maf sensor

Featured Replies

Hi,

My car needs a new maf sensor. I can't seem to find the right part for it from anywhere other than a main dealer.

Can anyone kindly tell me where I can get one from that will work please?

Thanks

Main dealer or TPS. Last one I bought from TPS came to £77 exchange. Aftermarket MAF's are notorious for not working correctly. Buy cheap buy twice.

What he said. Dealer or TPS. We have all bought cheaper options and regretted it.

I'm pretty sure they're nearer £100 now even on exchange.

yeah i bought a new MAF from euro car parts .. cost me £100, when i return the faulty MAF i get £36 refund :)

That seems a decent price. Without looking for the receipt I'm sure that's cheaper than TPS. Was that for genuine part?

How does the car run with it fitted?

I don't suppose you have the part number from the New maf?

There have been tales of woe about ECP Bosch MAF's. I use ECP quite a lot but would still always buy engine sensors from a VAG dealer or TPS.

car is running fine at the moment, am also in the process of troubleshooting an intermittent boos issue ...  :|

Part no: 434440757

Is the original OEM maf not a Bosch item?

It is but there are claims that the ECP Bosch MAF's are Chinese versions.

I bought an OEM MAF for a mkiv Golf GTI from GSF once, & the car was undriveable with it fitted. Had bit of a fight with GSF to get a refund. Since then I've always bought from my friendly local TPS as I've never had a bad one & they come with a 2 year warranty too.

Ah all very suspect indeed. I'm the same though I've bought two mafs for mine now both from tps both no problem. That's where my next one will come from as well.

TPS is the VAG original parts supplier or also in some contexts throttle position sensor but the first meaning is applicable here!

TPS? Sorry - keep reading it and don't know what it is. Obviously I should.

TPS = Trade Part Specialists.
