Wheel Bearing from EuroCarParts can someone confirm please?

Featured Replies

Hey guys I was looking to buy a new wheel bearing from ECP http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Skoda_Octavia_2.0_2006/p/car-parts/car-transmission/transmission-parts/wheel-bearing-and-wheel-hub/?628441560&1&80316864ac785e6c1fe5b868d7862d5fe6cd118d&000370

It's definitely the front bearing at fault, had all four tyres changed!

Now I need someone to confirm for me that this would be the correct item because in the specs it says it's for 280mm discs. I'm pretty sure the VRS's have 312mm discs? (2006 TFSI VRS btw).

I went through the car reg checker before looking for the part so I would assume it's correct.

Either way any help much appreciated.

regards,

Corrida

I think you'll find the front wheel bearing is the same part on all octavia mk2s. For example when upgrading from 288mm to 312mm brakes the only change normally done is replacing the caliper carriers.

Skodaparts have a genuine skoda part available at the link below, you could try giving them a call for confirmation of your query.

Also, it's worth knowing that the ECP website parts selector is only as good as their database. I've given up trying to get the correct air filter and cabin filter for my mk1 Superb as the parts the website suggests are for a BMW and an Octavia respectively - only noticed this when I came to fit them. Ended up going to GSF to get the right parts as even when showing the guys in the branch the issue (who to be fair were trying to be helpful) I still got told the computer says those are the correct parts - felt like I was in a Little Britain sketch.
